The Camarón de la Isla route is complementary to the Paco de Lucia route, essential to learn about the life and work of these two artists.
We start the route visiting the monument to Camarón, erected in 1992 and created by Antonio Mota. This monument is located in the square called Camarón de la Isla, formerly called Juan Vargas square, in honor of the Vargas inn, where Camarón de la Isla used to sing.
We will continue our tour along Calle Real, and after taking Calle General García de la Herrán, we will enter the Cañailla cemetery, where the Mausoleum of Camarón is located.
Afterwards, we will cross Almirante Laulhé Park to reach Camarón’s peña, where we will taste some typical tapas of the area, while they tell us about the life of this great artist.
We will continue our route walking along Carmen Street, where at the end is the house where Camarón de la Isla was born and grew up, converted into a house museum that we will visit.
