We are not going to discover why Cadiz, the second most populated city in the province, is called “Tacita de Plata“, since the origin of this nickname dates back to more than 200 years ago. But if we are going to unveil several theories and you yourselves are inclined by the one that most convinces you. What is certain and proven is that Cadiz, the Tacita de Plata, was the oldest Phoenician settlement in the West, and therefore has more than 3,000 years of history. Its first known character was Hannibal, who quartered in the Tacita de Plata to leave for the conquest of Italy.

Route 1The Cathedral

The cathedral has a mixture of baroque and neoclassical style. In addition to visiting its interior we will climb the so-called Clock Tower, where you can contemplate a panoramic view of the city and the cathedral itself.

Route 2Torre Tavira

This tower, located 45 meters above sea level, has the best views of the city. It houses the Camera Obscura, a mechanism that projects moving images of what is happening outside.

Route 3Streets of Cádiz

Then we will walk through the historic center of Cadiz, where we will visit the neighborhood of Populo, the oldest neighborhood in Cadiz, the neighborhood of La Viña, the heart of the capital of Cadiz and its carnival, or the Plaza del Tio de la Tiza, one of the most picturesque places in the city.

We will finish our tour through the streets in Puerta Tierra, a redoubt of what was once the entrance wall to the city of Cadiz.

Route 4Beaches of Cádiz

Our tour of Cadiz continues walking along the promenade, where we will enjoy some of the beaches that this city has as Victoria beach or Caleta beach, next to the cathedral.
